Working from home, as you probably know, takes some planning. Most probably when you first start out working hours and personal hours get jumbled up together and you are not productive in either area!

If you work from home it is most important to make yourself a plan of how you are going to do this successfully.

1. The most important thing is to have an area which is your working space. If you are fortunate enough to have a spare room you can set up as an office so much the better. For many this is not possible, so make sure that your ‘work’ area is defined somehow. Maybe a screen or a partition around this area would help to let others know that this is your office and not to disturb you.

2. Let friends and family know that working from home means you are ‘working’ and that you can’t just pop out for a coffee or they come over for a chat. Explain that if you were out at work you couldn’t just pop out for a coffee or take a look round the shops or drop in at the pub for a pint! Use that same working ethos when working from home.

3. If finances permit try to get a business phone so that when working hours are over you can switch that phone to voicemail and when you get back to work you can pick up the messages and deal with them. If most of your work is done on the internet then make sure that the computer you use is just for your use and not for the rest of the family.

4. Plan a work schedule. Do you work best in the morning or are you a night owl and do your best work at night, whichever part of the day suits you best then they are your working hours. Obviously this isn’t set in stone and the best thing about working from home is that you can change your working hours around.

5. Make a To Do List in the mornings or the evening before of what you want to achieve that day. Once you have completed your list then that is the time to empty the dishwasher, mow the lawn or whatever. Be disciplined in your business keep your schedule and you can combine a home business and a personal life easily.

To summarise:

• Set up your working space – let everyone know that is your office.

• Let friends and family know that you are working from 9 am to ?? am and you will give them a call or whatever after that time.

• Get a business phone or make sure you have a computer solely for your use.

• Plan a work schedule and stick to it.

• Make a To Do List that you complete each day.

Follow these ideas and you may find that life becomes less stressful!

I recently emailed my lists (I have several under different opt-ins), with a free offer of registering for calls to listen to internet marketers being ‘grilled’.

What a huge mistake that was I had a large batch of unsubscribers. The mistake I made was to send a blanket broadcast out and covered all my lists.

If I had put my brain in gear before proceeding with this course of action I would have realised that my subscribers to a site where I give away free products would not be the list bit interested in internet marketers being grilled hence the unsubs (if they think I am going to be sending this type of information to them – they are going to just say forget it). Let’s face it we all get more than enough emails sent to us with the stuff we are interested in.

So a word of caution be very careful and selective as to what you send to your subscribers – keep it topical to the kind of list they signed up to.

Again, learn from others mistakes. I now have to work that bit harder and definitely smarter to rebuild the numbers in one of my lists.

I have spent the last twenty minutes searching for something on my computer. I know I put it somewhere but I have so much useless information on my computer I can’t find it. All this build up has been accrued through the last two years of downloading and signing up to the next best thing since sliced bread!

I have been the Internet Marketers dream subscribing to every list on the Internet – or at least that’s what it feels like.

Well today I made a decision that I am going to organise my computer in some semblance of order so I can, in future, find everything I want with one click of the mouse. I am also going to unsubscribe from the majority of lists I am on. I lose valuable time each day just going through hundreds of emails just to make sure I don’t miss anything important. The time has come to do something about it big time.

So I am putting everything else aside for two days and just going to concentrate of cleaning up the computer and email – it will make life so much easier in the long run and save me a whole load of time. My mentor Alex Jeffreys taught us keep everything organised – I was obviously being deaf that day and didn’t take as much notice as I should. Well I am paying for it now.

Staart as you mean to go on, if you are just starting out in any new business – keep your computer organised and only sign up for things that you really need – not the things that you think you may need in the future.

Hi Guys

I have been carrying out some research on Click Bank for a video tutorial I am doing and have discovered some very alarming facts.  In my naivety I assumed if you sold a product through Click Bank you received payment for it.  In theory you do, in fact it’s not a simple as that.

Click Bank has some rules that I was not aware of:

• Click Bank have a minimum payout threshold, admittedly you can set your own payout threshold but bear in mind that they will charge you £2.50 per payout so to make this economical you have to set a fairly high payout level which in turn means you have to wait much longer to receive any money!

• The thing that really got me was, you have to make 5 sales to 5 different customers to reach your payout level and furthermore any sales that you receive from PayPal do not count towards your five sales. The 5 sales have to be by credit card.

• That’s not all, there is also the dormant account scenario!  If you do not have activity on your account for 90 days they make the account dormant which means you will have the privilege of paying $1 per payday as a fee.  If the account goes into 180 days ‘dormant’ you get charged $5 each payday.  So it isn’t rocket science to work out that any monies you have in your account could very rapidly disappear into the Click Bank coffers!  At the time I did my research over 90% of all Click Bank accounts were considered dormant!!
