Organising My Computer
I have spent the last twenty minutes searching for something on my computer. I know I put it somewhere but I have so much useless information on my computer I can’t find it. All this build up has been accrued through the last two years of downloading and signing up to the next best thing since sliced bread!
I have been the Internet Marketers dream subscribing to every list on the Internet – or at least that’s what it feels like.
Well today I made a decision that I am going to organise my computer in some semblance of order so I can, in future, find everything I want with one click of the mouse. I am also going to unsubscribe from the majority of lists I am on. I lose valuable time each day just going through hundreds of emails just to make sure I don’t miss anything important. The time has come to do something about it big time.
So I am putting everything else aside for two days and just going to concentrate of cleaning up the computer and email – it will make life so much easier in the long run and save me a whole load of time. My mentor Alex Jeffreys taught us keep everything organised – I was obviously being deaf that day and didn’t take as much notice as I should. Well I am paying for it now.
Staart as you mean to go on, if you are just starting out in any new business – keep your computer organised and only sign up for things that you really need – not the things that you think you may need in the future.

Hey Barbara!
Nice points covered there… however, I would add …what doesn’t earn you money shouldn’t be on your radar…so outsource it! Read 4 hour working week!
Remember Pareto’s 80/20 rule right?
good luck my darlin’
Joe
Hi Joe
Thanks for the comment and I quite agree with you about outsourcing – however, you have to have the money to outsource and that is my problem. Chicken and egg situation!!!
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
Enjoyed your post and it can be so frustrating when you know you saved that file but where????
I can relate to that and about 2 months ago I did exactly what you are doing and surprise surprise I found material that will be so helpful to me..and I had forgotten all about it.
Sure I always kept a filing system off sorts but over time my file system expanded and got cumbersome..and things got placed in inappropriate areas…especially as my knowledge improved.
Good luck with your system and I agree with Joe re outsourcing. In my file clean up I discovered things that I should never have kept in the first place (unnecessary duplicates etc.) AND things I should have outsourced long ago.
Best wishes and happy re-organising

Hey there man, I own a blog as well and I practically do not ever find fake responses on your sites posts. Exactly how do you find a way to stop it? Can you just physically moderate the entire thing?
Hi Barbara, a lot of people also keep things around the house that they don’t need. They tend to hoard almost everything. Computers are the same. After some time you have so much stuff on there you don’t know what is what.
Just like in the real world, there comes a time when you must clean house to keep order. Terry Conti
